An evening of Western Country & Folk music
“Teaching is my profession but Music is my passion.”
Rajiv Doss has done his schooling at Don Bosco,Park Circus and college at St.Xavier’s Kolkata.He has taught accounts and commerce in classes xi and xii in Don Bosco School, Park Circus. He thereafter joined the corporate world and for around twelve years was involved in the accounts and finance department of a few companies. His last stint was at Polar International as the Budget and Debtors Control Officer. At present he is a senior teacher of accounts and commerce in St.Xavier’s Collegiate School,Kolkata.He has been teaching here for the past eleven years. He has to his credit two accounts books used for the ISC Board. During his school and college Rajiv was actively involved with music. He represented his school and college in various fests and competitions that earned him a lot of appreciation. His forte is singing, with a flair for Country Music. His versatility lies in playing the Spanish guitar, Hawaiian guitar, mandolin and harmonica. He needs no accompanists. He has also been a compere of Western Music programmes at All India Radio and had the chance to interview various personalities there. In his words, “Teaching is my profession but Music is my passion.”

About Us
The Weavers Studio Centre for the Arts, the first phase of our larger project the Weavers Studio Resource Centre was inaugurated on November 1, 2007. This is a program Centre for the Arts covering the visual arts, cinema, theatre, photography, ceramics, sculpture,paintings, performing arts, communication and interactions a space that encourages young talent.
The Centre includes a small library for arts and a multipurpose space for exhibitions and interactive events. The Centre has so far held exhibitions & workshops in hand blown glass, ceramics, folk arts, theatre, photography, film screenings, music appreciation courses, art, craft, textiles, jewelry , book launches, talks and more. The Centre is run as a not for profit creative and cultural space and aims to promote awareness in the field of art and culture.
Its commercial events will help towards the construction and the sustenance of the Weavers Studio Resource Centre coming up in October 2008. The Center also aims to work together with other cultural institutions in Kolkata , India and abroad.
